As an official ex-officio political advisor, and former executive vp, I've been thinking back about my time in office. I expect a memoir to be released at some point. Probably with Vintage Press, but the negotions are not complete. More to come.
Anyways, I've just had a chance to look through the new, improved and excellent website of the incoming government of students. It looks well put-together and is clearly representative of the coming year. I expect strong leadership and very good work!
cheers

internship update
what up yall!?
I have some good news ~
As is stands now, for a student to do an internship over the summer and recieve credit for it, the student must be enrolled in a summer session of Lewis & CLark, class 244 or 444. This entials paying summer tuition.
However, based on work done recently by the curriculum committee, we are making difinitive steps in changing this process and allowing students to take 244 or 444 during the fall, and recieve credit for summer internships that way, avoiding paying summer tuition.
hellz yeah.

committees in the making
BON ADVISORY COMMITTEE
soon, there will be a delicious free meal for student interested in contributing the dining experience at LC.
what this actually means: there will be a raffle where the winners will eat a meal with the manager and head chef of the Bon.
the event will be catered, aka have a private buffet.
it will take place in the trailroom on WED. NOV. 14th, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
put your name in for the raffle!
also, be sure to see and comment on how awesome the posters advertising this event are.
COMMITTEE ON TRANSFER STUDENTS
the committee on transfer students is about to release a paper with a list of "transfer student responsibilities". this will go out to every transfer student who enrolls and every advisor.
we feel that this is a major step as far 'getting everyone on the same page' during the advising process, no important issues don't accidentally get dropped.
all for now, evp

PRA brah!
a meeting is about to begin, regarding the new Chief Justice, given that the current chief justice may take a leave of absence due to personal reasons.
the question is, should he resign, and a whole new chief justice be nominated from the board? or can he take a leave of absence and a have a (temporary) replacement not from the PRA board?
things to question in discussion:
bylaws say ..."if the chief justice can't finish a term..." does this mean one whole year, (yes), BUT, cannot fill the duties for a whole term: does this mean delegating to a replacement COUNTS as filling his duties? can he do that? is impeachment an option? -->then a whole new Chief Justice?
ah! the drama continues. we should have a soap.

First Post
Welcome to the inner working's of the mind's of the students running the college!
(we don't actually do anything, real decisions are made by adults wearing ties, but we pretend. just kidding).
This site has been created to show the goals and objectives of the ASLC Executive Council.
This site has been created to increase transparency within student government.
This site has been created to bring the student body into the mind's and head's of it's student leaders. Be careful, some of us are kind of crazy.
Let the transparency begin !!
